Rockfalls are common geological phenomena with natural or anthropogenic causes and occur unpredictably because of the great diversity of factors affecting them. Especially on major roads or railways and where the planning includes the passage between rocky cut slopes, the risk of rock falls is high.

The slope protection systems with steel wire mesh type ISONET and with rope net type ISOFIX prevent the rockfall phenomenon.

They provide support to the slope and oppose the movements of the single stony elements or the deformations of portions of the slope.Furthermore, they are enhancing the overall stability of the slope.

They consist of a combination of anchors, steel wire mesh or rope net mesh and wire ropes between the anchor grids

The systems ISOFIX and ISONET are designed and adapted to the local static conditions of the slopes intended to stabilize.

ISOFIX System
Addressing rock fall and surface instability problems with ISOFIX systems is achieved by laying on the surface of the slope metallic panels in rhomboidal mesh, 6mm wire rope diameter and minimum mesh dimension 200x200 mm), resistance 145KN / M, stretched on the slope by upper, lower, middle, lateral and centre anchorage nailings cemented to the steady layer of the slope.

The panels have square or rectangular shape and variable dimension (min. 3,0m X 3,0m) according to the typology of consolidation. The joint of the panels is obtained by continuous binding, using a cable wire.

In some appliances, in the side against the slope a fine secondary mesh can be installed

ISONET System
When installing the surface rock fall protection system type ISONET, the slope is covered with strongly galvanized double twisted wire mesh, with max. tensile strength 550N/mm2, 3mm wire diameter and mesh type 8 X10 cm. The wire mesh at the top and bottom is refolded for overlapping.

The longitudinal joint of the sheets is obtained by continuous or stitch binding, using a steel wire whose characteristics are the same as the one composing the mesh.

The ISONET wire mesh is stretched on the slope by upper, lower, middle, lateral and centre panel anchorages with distribution plates, which are connected with cables  forming a containment mesh.

The systems ISOFIX and ISONET are designed and adapted to the local static conditions of the slopes intended to stabilize..
